Mission Statement:
The mission of the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District is to promote the wise use, improvement, and maintenance of the soil, water, and other natural resources in Greene County.

History:
Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District was founded in March 1946 to assist local people in taking action for better use and management of soil and water resources.

Commissioners:
Greene Soil & Water Conservation District have five non-parisan commissioners elected in
the general election for 4-year terms who direct the programs of the district. In addition, the
district has appointed two assistant commissioners who advise and aid in various ways.

Greene Soil & Water Conservation District's present commissioners:

Commissioner Johnetta Harms, Asst Comm. Sheila Hebenstreit, Commissioners B J Wright and Kyle Niles. (Back) Asst comm Mike Wolterman & Jason Stauffer, Commissioners Mike Bravard and Mike Minnehan.

Staff:
The Natural Resources Conservation Service, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and Greene Soil and Water Conservation District employees to assist in the mission.
