Cover Crop Symposium

 

Brought to you in collaboration with Clinton, Greene, and Warren SWCDs and the Wilmington College Academic Farm, the 2024 Cover Crop Symposium will be March 27, 2024 from 6-8 pm at the Wilmington College Academic Farm (1594 Fife Ave. Wilmington, OH 45177). 

Join us for an evening with our featured speaker, Dr. Hans Kok. 

Dr. Hans Kok (Pronounced ‘Hahns, Coke’) is an Independent Conservation Consultant based out of Indianapolis. Dr. Kok has worked in the soil-health, regenerative agriculture, no-till arena for over 30 years. He provides educational events for Conservation Districts and private industry throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Hans was a project director with the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) in West-Lafayette, Indiana, and was one of the founding members of the Indiana Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative, helped launch the Soil Health Partnership, and was the lead agronomist for the Indiana In-Field Advantage Program.

He worked 15 years in academia as a state Extension Specialist for soil and water conservation at Washington State University, the University of Idaho, and Kansas State University, and he worked as conservation tillage specialist for Monsanto. He has worked on conservation projects in Israel, Spain, and Austria.

Dr. Kok received his Bachelors in Environmental Engineering and Masters in Agricultural Engineering degrees from the Agricultural University in the Netherlands, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Idaho.
